Who we are, where we come from, and why we organized
OUR ASSOCIATION
Colleagues Then,
Family Now.
We are former Base Service employees of Ethiopian Airlines now living across Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, North America. Our careers began on the ramp, in the terminals, and behind the scenes of Africa's leading airline and the bonds we built there did not end when we changed continents. FBSPEAL brings those bonds into an organized association governed by bylaws adopted by our members.
WHAT GUIDES US
Our Mission, Vision, & Values
Mission
To address hardships arising from bereavement, serious illness, and loss of employment, and to jointly observe occasions of happiness and sorrow among members and their families.
Vision
A connected community where no former colleague faces a major life event alone, anywhere in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.
Values
Friendship, mutual support, accountability under our bylaws, and pride in our shared Ethiopian Airlines Base Service heritage.
HOW WE ARE GOVERNED
General Assembly
Our highest body. A meeting is duly constituted when more than 50% of members are present. The Assembly meets every two months.
Executive Committee
Five elected members — Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Accountant, and Public Relations Officer — serving three-year terms, maximum two consecutive terms.
Independent Auditor
Elected by the General Assembly, independent of the Executive Committee, auditing accounts and records twice each year.
